TiDB is an open source distributed database built for the way software is being written now. Most data stacks are a franken-stack: a transactional database here, an analytics engine there, a cache, a search layer, a vector store, all stitched together and held in place with glue code. TiDB collapses that into one system. Transactions and analytics in the same place, scaling horizontally, built to handle agentic workloads rather than retrofitted for them.

It is available as a fully managed cloud service (DBaaS) on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, so teams get the architecture without running the infrastructure themselves.
